The round structural hollow sections according to the EN 10219-1 and -2 standard are the cold-formed counterparts of the thick-walled hot-finished structural hollow sections defined in the EN 10210-1 and -2 standard. The steel grades in our warehouse are largely dual-classified and meet the requirements set for both S355J2H and S420 MH grades. The yield strength is at least 420 N/mm2. The round structural hollow sections have a controlled silicon content (opt 1.4) and are therefore well suited for hot-dip galvanizing. Round structural hollow sections are used as load-bearing parts in construction in the same way as square or rectangular pipes. Round structural hollow sections are often chosen for aesthetic reasons if they remain visible in structures. Round shapes are considered more pleasant to look at than angular shapes.
